At ORE Catapult, we are the UK’s leading Technology, Innovation and Research Centre for Offshore Renewable Energy. Our mission is to accelerate the UK’s transition to a net-zero economy by driving innovation in offshore wind, wave, and tidal technologies. Our internal teams are at the forefront of exploring new technologies to transform how offshore assets are built, managed, and maintained. We believe that data science, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) will be game-changing for the future of offshore renewables—and we’re determined to lead the industry there. The challenge is: how do we get there? That’s where you come in.
We are looking for a Senior Power Platform Developer, who will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing innovative solutions that support business functions and client requirements. While leveraging the Microsoft Power Platform as a foundation, our approach goes beyond traditional low-code/no-code, with a strong focus on custom development, high-code extensions, and plugins to deliver enterprise-grade, scalable applications. These solutions will be used by our people, partners, and customers across a range of platforms and services within the Microsoft ecosystem.
What will I do?
- Lead the architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise-grade Power Platform solutions.
- Maintain and enhance existing platforms and applications, including business-critical solutions built on Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
- Provide technical leadership for in-house development teams while also working collaboratively with external partners, software vendors, and consultancies.
- Design and implement system integrations and middleware solutions, connecting applications via APIs, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Azure services.
- Assess the commercial and operational value of proposed solutions and clearly communicate recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies—such as AI, Copilot, and advanced analytics—into the Power Platform ecosystem to drive innovation and industry leadership.
- Define and enforce governance, best practices, and security standards for Power Platform adoption and lifecycle management.
- Work closely with the Director of Professional Services, Head of ICT, Business Systems Manager, and other stakeholders to shape the digital systems that will support our ambitions through to 2035.
What are we looking for?
Required - Educated to degree level in computer science, software development, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in software development, with at least 2 years focused on Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
- Proven track record of designing and delivering scalable Power Platform solutions in enterprise environments.
- Expertise in solution architecture, data modeling, and security design.
- Strong knowledge of .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET) and experience with web standards (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST APIs, GraphQL).
- Experience integrating Power Platform with SharePoint, Dynamics 365, or third-party systems.
- Hands-on experience with Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus) and cloud-hosted infrastructure.
- Advanced skills in relational databases, especially Microsoft SQL.
- Practical understanding of software design patterns, ALM, and DevOps practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub, VS Code).
Desirable - Experience with Power BI and advanced reporting solutions.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Python or Ansible.
- Competency working across various operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
- Knowledge of AI, Copilot, and advanced analytics within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Experience with AWS cloud services in addition to Azure.
Personal Attributes - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on delivery with strategic architecture responsibilities.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Enthusiasm for innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability.
- Passion for mentoring and enabling citizen developers through governance and best practices.
