Plastic Energy is at the forefront of converting non-recyclable “End-of-Life” plastics waste into high grade oils for making clean recycled plastics. Our company mission is to play a significant role in solving the global plastic problem, and to be world leaders in chemical recycling.
We promote the concept of a Circular Economy of plastics, and we use a patented Thermal Anaerobic Conversion (TAC) technology to convert end-of-life and valueless plastics into a product known as TACOIL, which chemical/petrochemical companies can transform back into food-grade recycled plastics.
Plastic Energy has established offices in London and Madrid, and regional offices in Singapore and Malaysia. We currently own two chemical recycling plants in Spain operating at commercial scale, several projects underway in Western Europe, and new developments defined in South East Asia.
We are now seeking a Process Engineer to join our Product Delivery Group to support the deployment of the company’s environmental industrial technology globally.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Contribute to the design, specification, and evaluation of process systems and vendor packages; · Produce and review key process engineering deliverables for contracts; · Support the deployment of the company’s industrial technology at client sites; · Support safety assessments; · Engage in industrial trials, fault investigations, and on-site commissioning/operational support; · Act as a technical stakeholder in technology delivery activities, including optimisation of operational facilities and development of new solutions; · Work across engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions that meet applicable codes and standards.
The role is extensive and varied, and the above is not intended to provide an exhaustive list of duties.
Desirable Experience: · Bachelor of Engineering (Process) or equivalent qualification. · Experience with process industry standards to design and specify process equipment. · Working understanding of thermodynamic, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, combustion and distillation principles. · Working knowledge of Aspen HYSYS simulation software. · Strong understanding of key process requirements, ability to interpret PFDs, P&ID’s. · Analytical and problem-solving abilities. · The role would suit a candidate with a few years of relevant working experience within an engineering design field. · Enthusiasm and aptitude to be part of a growing team.
Key Competencies and Personal Qualities: · The ability to progress with several different tasks simultaneously, self-manage and deliver to schedule. · Technically strong, with excellent maths and IT skills. · Experience with Microsoft software packages such as Word, Excel and Visio. · An effective communicator with an excellent standard of oral and written English. · Sense of adventure, drive and a self-motivator. · Background and/or interest in alternative environmental technologies. · Ability to travel within the European Union.
