Position Purpose:
This role is accountable for defining Arexons’ Procurement strategy. The main responsibilities for this position include:
·Identify and propose the short-, mid- and long-term Procurement strategy in line with Company aspirations and approved 5-year plan, based on Arexons stand-alone development and also via integrated approach with Petronas Lubricants International(PLI); ·Determine the resources required to support the business growth and plan from a purchasing standpoint; ·Develop and deploy procurement strategy plans in order for Arexons to achieve the expected annual saving; ·Implement procurement and sourcing strategies for direct/indirect goods and logistic services aligning with organizational objectives and budgetary constraints; ·Manage suppliers relationship – including performance evaluation , contract negotiation and issue resolution to ensure continuous improvement and value optimization; ·Develop sourcing plan that ensures both product availability at competitive price; · Prepare and present projects, plans and update performance review documents to the Arexons management and eventually to PLI management and/or Board management; ·Scout for purchasing opportunities in domestic/foreign markets; ·Identify, map and manage the business legal risks of foreign trade and customs related activities; ·Identify sources of information for selecting the most suitable supplier and negotiate supply contracts based on company guidelines and defined targets; ·Works in tight contact with S&OP manager and Plant Production manager also on continuous process improvement and optimization ·Identify and propose mid-term and long-term goals and targets for each buyer; ·Manage and enhance key materials trends monitoring (dashboard) and support Commercial organization in developing commercial list price increase story line from key material trends; ·Lead and motivate the Team towards reaching assigned objectives; coach people to succeed and help them prioritize tasks and activities in order to free up time to step forward in negotiating and grow Purchasing’s strategy; ·Develop Team’s members to grow succession pipeline and strengthen internal Talents pool, giving them right-sized opportunities, visibility and challenges; ·Spread our culture and be an active ambassador of our core values, leading by example; ·In his position, the incumbent of the role will coordinate a Team of 4 Buyer.
Key Accountabilities:
·Develop, together with the rest of the Purchasing and the Arexons Team, a company culture for international business; ·To be fully autonomous on the Buyer function and being able to train and guide other colleagues; ·To coordinate with Legal Department and Commodity Manager Contract development and reviews; ·Be responsible for the new Supplier selection and develop alternative products in line with the functional areas; ·To demonstrates and promotes behaviors consistent with Petronas cultural believes; ·To comply with all company policies, procedures and safety standards; ·Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies and ethical standard in procurement activities, including environmental and social responsibility considerations; ·To execute regional procurement projects following Petronas procedures.
Skill, Experience & Knoweldge:
·Master’s degree in business administration, economics, engineering or related area or equivalent from a recognized national or international University; ·10 years of experience in Procurement with focus in direct and indirect goods and 3 years of managing direct reports; ·Strong negotiation skills with the ability to drive favorable outcomes and build mutually beneficial partnership with suppliers; ·Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels; ·Be well organized to manage multiple competing priorities in parallel; ·Be responsive and responsible to deliver on commitments; ·Strong purchasing strategies and negotiation techniques (for contracts definition and execution); ·Excellent analytical skills , with the ability to interpret data identify trends and make data driven decisions; ·Travel availability: 20% of time mostly in Italy to visit, monitor and actively manage key suppliers; ·Fluent in Italian and English both written and spoken; any other language will be considered a plus. ·Experience purchase in Chemical industry is an advantage but not essential.
